Allen Roth, PE joined JBCI as a Project Engineer in 1984 and advanced to Vice President in 1992. In 2015, Mr. Roth assumed the responsibilities of President. His experience includes structural design and analysis of reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, and light gauge steel of both new and existing structures. However, his expertise is in the field of building envelope, water abatement and building technology. He has been the Project Manager for design, documentation, and construction administration for the Structural Condition Evaluation and Repair and Building Façade projects.
Joseph “JP” Philips, PE joined the firm as a Project Engineer in 1993. His professional experience ranges from the design of new structures to the repair and restoration of existing structures. He has been the Project Manager for design, documentation and construction administration on rehabilitation projects, structural and exterior façade investigations, parking garage investigations and forensic studies. Most recently, he was promoted to Director of Engineering in 2011.
Jessica Clifford, PE began her career at Joseph B. Callaghan, Inc. in 2006. Over the past 12 years she has contributed greatly to the JBCI team; specializing in building envelopes, water abatement, building technology and historical preservation. Before she joined the firm, the Cooperative Education Program at Drexel University afforded her the opportunity to work in the City of Philadelphia Capital Program Office, gaining critical knowledge of the City’s processes and procedures. She brings extensive knowledge and professionalism to every client relationship and continues to manage many of the firm’s larger critical projects.
Erik joined JBCI in 2006 and has since advanced from Project Engineer to Project Manager, to his current position of Principal, where he has taken on a leadership role to aid in the development of younger engineers. He is licensed in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York, and continues to pursue licensure in additional states. During his time at JBCI, Erik has focused on existing structures, with work ranging from assessment and repairs, to large-scale renovations. Erik is always looking to expand his knowledge and develop new and customized solutions to the unique problems found when dealing with older and historic structures. Erik lives with his wife and dog in Collingswood, New Jersey.
Diane Goschler is JBCI’s Façade Compliance Inspection Division Lead due to her particular expertise in engineering assessments, failure analysis, and historical preservation design. As that Lead, she manages the related condition surveys, due diligence reports, project specifications, and maintenance programs for our façade clients. She also has a deep understanding of waterproofing and concrete and masonry consulting including garage, balcony, and plaza deck repair, masonry facade and historic restorations. Diane serves as a member of our Leadership Team and spearheads JBCI’s business development efforts.
Colleen Boulden, EIT began her career interning with our firm before entering her senior year at the University of Delaware. Upon graduating in 2009, she joined our firm as a Project Engineer. She has experience in façade and building envelope assessment and repair, waterproofing, and concrete repair including balcony and garage repair.
Michael Salera, PE, upon graduation from Villanova University, joined our firm in 2012. He has gained extensive experience in the structural analysis and design plus façade assessments. He has analyzed many building materials including, reinforced concrete, structural steel, limestone, brick masonry, terra cotta and cold form steel. He has assisted in facade inspections and performing construction administration services on projects.
Ken Destefano, EIT joins JBCI after completing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Masters of Science in Civil Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He is a familiar face as he was an intern at JBCI for the summer of 2015 and 2016 while completing his degrees. He recently became an Engineer in Training (EIT).
Ken played on the Men’s soccer team for four years at Johns Hopkins and continues to play recreationally in Philadelphia. He completed his first Triathlon last fall and plans to take on another this summer. All at JBCI are looking forward to cheering him on!
Austin Papp, EIT joins JBCI after working as a structural engineer for a global engineering firm focusing on commercial and large scale residential design projects. Austin completed a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environment Engineering at Rowan University and primarily focused his studies on concrete, steel, wood, and gauge metal. Austin is an avid golfer and enjoys playing 18 holes on the weekend and taking golf trips with friends. He also has a strong travel bug and is working on a bucket list of exciting and unique US and international destinations.
Tyler Logar joins JBCI after completing a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environment Engineering at Rowan University. His studies focused on structural engineering, specifically reinforced concrete, steel design, and earth retaining systems analysis and design. During his time at Rowan, he served as captain of the men’s soccer team for three years.
Tyler is an all-around Philly sports fan and he enjoys spending time with family and friends to watch the games. GO EAGLES! Camping and traveling both nationally and internationally are also hobbies when he isn’t working. He’s taking suggestions for his next trip.
Robert “Bobby” Garneau joins JBCI after completing Bachelors of Science degrees in Civil and Architectural Engineering at Drexel University. His studies focused on structural engineering, with interests in forensic structural analysis, green building technologies, and architectural history.
Outside of the classroom, Bobby enjoyed sports the most; playing intramural flag football, volleyball, and softball. He also worked as a Building Manager for the Dakalaskas Athletic Center. He seeks to further his education and has earned credentials as an Engineer In Training (EIT) and a LEED Green Associate.
